Founded in 1994, our client is a manufacturer and wholesale distributor of home furnishings, and specialises in specific categories including bar and counter stools, designer oriented beds and daybeds, bedroom furniture, and casual dining.
The big challenge for our client was being able to replace processes that were largely manual, often inaccurate, and unscalable. With plans for organic and acquisition based growth, a system was needed that could be both scalable and flexible in terms of configuration. The company also had a complicated pricing set up including changing discounting strategies. A solution was needed to execute this activity, that could avoid the need for excessive manual involvement.
With over 350 thousand unique price points and multiple distribution channels, the company also needed the flexibility to move products at different price points per channel. With a number of complex commissions in place, a solution was needed that could give the company the ability to incentivise based on various price points and profit margins.
Furthermore, the solution would need to provide integrated and automated General Ledger postings and Accounts Payable payments, to minimise manual journal entries and reduce human error. Our client also found it difficult to manage and reconcile customer deductions, often due to pricing complexity and errors, as well as trade spend or planned liabilities.
